TONY LEVIN stick PAT MASTELOTTO trommer MARKUS REUTER touchgitar

Rytmeseksjonen til King Crimson tar med seg sære instrumenter og gjestar oss med den smart progjazzen. Bassmeister Tony Levin feirar snart førti år i samarbeid med Peter Gabriel, og har i tillegg spelt på nærare 500 plater, mellom anna med John Lennon og Pink Floyd. Sjølvlærte Pat Mastelotto sjangerhopper frå Mr. Mister til The Rembrandts til 15 år med King Crimson. Yngstemann, Markus Reuter, har tatt steget frå piano til Chapman Stick og vidare til sjølvdesigna gitarar. Instrumenteringa er uvanleg – Chapman Sticks har 12 strenger og dekkjer både både bass- og gitarregisteret og vel så det. Ekstrem teknisk dugleik kombinert med ekstrem musikalitet borgar for ein fantastisk konsert! Dette blir ein unik sjanse til å oppleva levande legender tett på.

Tony Levin and Pat Mastelotto, the powerhouse bass and drums of the group King Crimson for some years, bring that tradition to all their playing. Levin plays the Chapman Stick, from which the band takes it’s name. Having bass and guitar strings, the Chapman Stick functions at times like two instruments. Markus Reuter plays his self-designed touch style guitar – again covering much more ground than a guitar or a bass. And Mastelotto’s drumming encompasses not just the acoustic kit, but a unique electronic setup too, allowing him to add loops, samples, percussion, and more. The result; audiences are fascinated by watching just three musicians onstage perform pieces like Stravinsky’s Firebird Suite, King Crimson’s Red and Lark’s Tongues, as well as wild improvs and their own catalog of unique music.

Stick Men have released 5 CD’s: Soup, Stick Men, Absalom, Open and Deep. A new album is underway and scheduled for release in Spring 2016.
